monkeyshine nutworks: Crikey, Bickey! It was a gift in disguise

The last post crowed about 300+ page views in a single day and yesterday was better with more than 500+ page views. Of that I realise that whatever was above the 120 odd hits was spam, thanks to nitecruzr for his advice and pointers in Google help forums (and his blog).

But that thanks isn’t enough to undo my hubris. It can only be done by admitting that for a full 24 hours I was mesmerized by the pay-per-click and manual-traffic-direction techniques, before I perused nitecruzr’s advice.

So actually the total page views should read (whenever/henceforth), as about ~550-600 less that what it displays. Oops! Even that is not right. Due to my stupidity (before I realised the wisdom of nitecruzr’s), I’d set up a traffic direction scheme - which would run for another 6 days. As of today that earns me 6 page views a day. Which means that the actual score should be read as whatever is shown minus 650.

During this past 48 hours, I am heartened by the same number of hits, as before disregarding those mentioned above, even though I’d neglected to post anything of any consequence during the time - because of the preoccupation mentioned above, and ruminating.

I made a vow, a promise, sometime back that this blog is in for the long haul. I make a vow now, a promise, that I’ll never, ever, resort to such practices (as targeted-traffic, or even link building) just to drive the traffic up to monkeyshine nutworks. For the past 48 hours or so, I’ve been as Ass and it is time to admit it and go forth.

I am thankful for Google to putting a stop to those obscene traffic drivers (though they haven’t stopped the 6 a day site yet) and wish/want them to be more pro-active in stopping such schemes.

This blog henceforth will be driven by only one thing - the content and writing of this blog.

Let it attract 22,222 readers a day as I want, or degenerate to 3 years back when hardly 3 people read it in a week. I will rely only upon the content of this blog to attract, and sustain readers.
